To update your firmware, follow the procedure described by Mike W1MT.
You will need to install the IAR embedded workbench from Mike's web.

You will need a MSP430 FET compatible programmer to update the decoder's firmware. I built a copy of the Olimex design, see

Steve KD1JV recommends a simple programming interface using a male DB-25 connector for the parallel port, a 7 pin SIP pin to plug into the ATS board or the decoder board and 6x 220 ohm resistors. While it works, this procedure pushes the chip out of recommended operating conditions. You have been warned.
