How to Use Admiralty Sailing Directions on CD 

  1. Click on Admiralty Sailing Directions.
  2. You will now be at the Chapter Index Chartlet. Place the cursor over the chapter number that you would like to go to. The cursor will change to a pointing finger. Left Click on the number.
      Important Notices: The pages on this CD are displayed almost exactly as they will be found in the paper publication. You may need to change the orientation of some pages. Use the "Rotate View" button in the Adobe Menu Bar to do this.
  3. You will now be taken to the Index Chartlet for the chosen chapter. Place the cursor over the paragraph number to which you would like to go. The cursor will change to a pointing finger. Left Click on the number.
  4. To return to the previous view, use the left pointing arrow icon
    ( ) on the Adobe Browser toolbar at the top of the screen. When you move your mouse over the left pointing arrow icon a 'tool tip' will be displayed as follows:

      Please note: If you have been using a number of links to move around the book you may want to return to the Chapter Index Diagram. To do this, click on the "Home" button at the top of the page.

Photographs 

  1. When you get to the Index Chartlet for a chapter showing the paragraph numbers, you may see some Camera symbols. It may help to enlarge the page a little to provide a better image.
  2. The Camera symbol indicates that there is one or more photographs on the CD for that area. Click on the Camera and you will be taken to photograph(s).
  3. Alternatively, from the front screen of the CD you can select the “Photographs” option and go straight to the file showing all of the photographs shown seperately on the CD.
  4. To return to the Index Chartlet or the list of additional photographs when looking at photographs close the window that you are in.

Index 

  1. The CD version of Sailing Directions is almost an exact copy of the paper version.
  2. The Index enables the user to locate places and subject matter within the book. If you left click on the paragraph number beside an index entry, you will be taken to the top of the page containing that entry.

Home Button 

  1. If at any time you become lost by jumping to different pages in the book you can always click on the Home button at the top left hand corner of each page.
