Electromagnetic waves travel at the speed of light (29,979,245,800 centimeters per second) and their frequency and wavelength can be determined by the formulas:

1) f = c/w
2) w = c/f

where 'c' is the speed of light, 'f' is frequency and 'w' is wavelength.

Also, the photon energy can be calculated by the formulas:

1) e  =  h · f       2) e = (c · h)/w
where 'e' is energy and 'h' is Planck's constant (4.13566 x 10-15 electron volts/second).

Remember, when using this calculator that input and output will always be in Hertz (1 cycle per second), centimeters and electron volts.
